GST का सुप्रिटेंडेंट एक व्यापारी से ले रहा था 2 लाख की रिश्वत, CBI ने रंगे हाथों किया गिरफ्तार

  भोपाल में CBI ने बड़ी कार्रवाई करते हुए GST के सुप्रिंटेंडेंट को 2 लाख की रिश्वत लेते हुए रंगे हाथों गिरफ्तार किया. एक व्यापारी ने रिश्वत मांगने की शिकायत CBI से की थी. CBI ने GST के सुप्रिंटेंडेंट चार ठिकानों पर भी छापा मारा. तलाशी की कार्रवाई अभी जारी है. भोपाल के एक व्यापारी पीयूष पर जीएसटी ने एक करोड़ की रिकवरी निकाली थी. सूत्रों ने बताया कि इसी रिकवरी में सेटलमेंट के नाम पर जीएसटी के दो सुप्रिडेंट स्तर के अधिकारियों ने रिश्वत की मांग की थी. आरोप है कि सुप्रिडेंट अंकुर खंडेलवाल और चेतन सक्सेना ने सेटलमेंट के लिए 10 लाख रुपये की रिश्वत मांगी थी. हालांकि फिर 6 लाख रुपये पर बात तय हुई.   GST Council may consider reducing the differential across the tax rates for lithium-ion batteries and electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), which are at 18% and 5%, respectively, according to draft battery swapping policy released by government think-tank Niti Aayog on Thursday. The draft paper mentions technical and operational requirements that battery swapping ecosystems would need to fulfil, to enable effective, efficient, reliable, safe, and customer-friendly implementation of battery-swapping infrastructure. The policy paper says that any individual or entity is free to set up a battery swapping station at any location, provided that the specified technical, safety and performance standards are adhered to. Pune: CBI arrests central GST superintendent in Baramati for bribery

  The Pune unit of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a Central GST (Goods and Services Tax) superintendent from the Baramati area Tuesday for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant. A case was registered against the GST superintendent, identified as Kuldeepak Sharma, following a complaint from a labour supply contractor. He alleged that on March 23, he received a letter from the superintendent pertaining to alleged non-payment of GST for the year 2016-17, said CBI officials. The superintendent allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 for not sending an adverse report to the CGST commissionerate in Pune. The complainant was subsequently called to the CGST office in Baramati where the superintendent brought down the demand to Rs 10,000, he alleged. GST Refunds Worth ₹ 1.75 Lakh Crore Issued To Exporters In 2021-22

  Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) issued duty drawback and GST refunds of ₹ 1.75 lakh crore to exporters in the last fiscal ended March 2022, a senior official said on Wednesday. CBIC Chairman Vivek Johri said the department is working on a scheme to facilitate gems and jewellery exports through e-commerce. Speaking at the Civil Services Day, he said that the department took several steps to fast-track refunds and free up the working capital of exporters during the Covid period. "During 2021-22, we disbursed drawback of almost ₹ 24,000 crore and GST refunds of ₹ 1.51 lakh crore, which is a growth of 33 per cent over the previous year," he said, adding the department is "very keenly" focused on robust growth in revenue. Odisha shocker: Daily wage labourer gets Income Tax notice of Rs 4.31 crore

  23-year-old Rinku Barik, a daily wage labourer from Odisha, has received a notice from the Income Tax (IT) Department asking him to pay a hefty tax to the tune of crores of rupees. However, Rinku claimed that someone else have committed the tax fraud in his name. In September 2018, Rinku received a spot summon from the Directorate General of GST Intelligence. In the same year in December, Rinkureceived another notice from the CSGT and Central Excise Superintendent of Nayagarh Range which mentioned that he had available Input Tax Credit (ITC) of around Rs 4.31 crore and evaded tax, as reported by The New Indian Express (TNIE). Rinku claimed that he had shared his personal documents with some people while he was trying to get a job in a company. ITR filing for AY 2022-23: Should you file before June? Know here

  Earlier this month, the Income-tax department notified ITR forms for FY2021-22. In its circular, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) notified new ITR form 1 to ITR form 6. So, does this mean that an assesee can file their ITR for AY 2022-23? While filing ITR, an important document is Form 16A which is given by the recruiter to its employees. With the due date for filing a TDS return being May 31, 2022, the income taxpayer's Form 26AS would not get updated before June 2022. And so, without the TDS return filing, the employer will not be able to give Form 16A to its employees whose TDS got deducted in Q4 FY22. Hence, it is advisable that salaried individuals wait till May 31, 2022 to file their ITR from June 2022 onwards. Likewise, any self-employed or a small businessperson will not be able to get their updated Form 26AS if their TDS is deducted by of business partner in Q4 FY22.
