ITR Filing ALERT! File your Income Tax Return with new mobile app; Know installation process, features and more

 









The government had extended the date of filing income tax returns for the Assessment Year 2021-22 by two months. One can now file the ITR till 30 September 2021, but earlier it was 31 July 2021.

All the important features of the income tax portal available on desktop are made available on the income tax mobile app. The income tax mobile app is enabled subsequently for full anytime access on a mobile network


The process of filing the Income Tax return has become more convenient now. The return filing process can be done from one’s mobile phone. The income tax department of India earlier informed about this new development on its Twitter handle, saying income tax e-filing portal 2.0 will have an all-new mobile app also.

Along with the new ITR e-filing portal, the mobile app facility also launched on June 7, 2021. The app can be downloaded from the Apple app store and Play store. With phones widely used, the department has claimed that the new IT return e-filing portal and the new mobile app will be easy to use for taxpayers. It will help taxpayers to gather information like ITR form, pre-filled income tax details, Saral income tax facility, refund claim and other facilities.

The mobile app has various other features like Locate a Tax Return Preparer near you, Tools for calculating your taxes, ASK IT - A ChatBot, Tax Gyaan - A Game; and a lot more

  The last date to file income tax return for the financial year 2020-21 has been extended to September 30, 2021. Although there is more than two months left for the deadline to end, it is always recommended to complete the task as soon as possible and not to wait for the last minute.   n the wake of severe Covid-19 pandemic, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has decided to extend timelines of various tax compliance dates on Saturday. “In view of the adverse circumstances arising due to the severe Covid-19 pandemic and also in view of the several requests received from taxpayers, tax consultants & other stakeholders from across the country, requesting that various compliance dates may be relaxed, the Government has extended certain timelines today," the ministry of finance said in a statement. The move is aimed at mitigating “the difficulties being faced by various stakeholders," it further added.
