Govt will get ₹30,000-40,000 crore in GST with increased sale of automobiles


 






“Around 99% of recovery(metal waste)can be done with regular scrapping. It will also bring down cost of raw material by approx 40%. It will make components less expensive and increase our competitiveness in international market," Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said as quoted by news agency ANI

The Vehicle Scrapping Policy is aimed at creating an eco-system for phasing out unfit and polluting vehicles in an environmentally friendly and safe manner. The policy intends to create scrapping infrastructure in the form of Automated Testing Stations and Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities across the country.

Haryana first state to reimburse GST on Covid-related donations

  Haryana on Tuesday became the first state in the country to allow reimbursement of goods and services tax (GST) paid on Covid-related donations made to the state and state-run facilities. This will be applicable till June 30. The move is aimed at encouraging efforts by corporations, non-government organisations (NGOs) and individuals and facilitating donations of items such as oxygen concentrators, Covid-19 vaccines, Remdesivir injections, etc. as the country battles the intense second Covid-19 wave. Haryana will reimburse GST already paid on such Covid-19 related items, subject to conditions. “Haryana is facing an acute shortage of liquid medical oxygen and other health equipment such as ventilator, medicines etc… in order to encourage efforts by corporates, NGOs and individuals coming forward to help the state government … by way of donations, it is necessary in the public interest to facilitate donation of such items,” the state government said in a notification on Tuesday. Income Tax department detects ‘unaccounted transactions’ worth over ₹500 crore at Ahmedabad real estate firm

  The Income Tax department raided an Ahmedabad-based real estate developer, resulting in the detection of unaccounted transactions worth more than ₹500 crore, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) claimed on Saturday, adding that the operation, which was a part of a tax evasion probe, was also conducted on brokers linked to the developer. Documents have revealed unaccounted income of more than ₹200 crore each in the hands of the real estate group, as well as parties recorded on documents recovered from the brokers. Overall, the exercise led to the detection of unaccounted transactions of more than ₹500 crore,” the CBDT, which frames policy for the IT department, said in a statement, according to news agency PTI. “Several documents related to the purchase of properties over the years, which are apparently held in the name of benami individuals, were also found,” the statement further stated.
